SUNDAY FUNDAY

Wow look at me being consistent!

I tagged along today with Anna + John and we headed out to Cupertino to try out Kula Sushi. It's a revolving sushi bar. We were hoping to beat the dinner rush but we still had to wait about 2 hours. It was a fun experience though and worth the wait. Majority of the rolls and nigiri are served on a conveyer belt and other menu items are made to order like the ramen and hand rolls.

Each plate is $2.25 unless you order something else on the touch screen menu at your table. Their ramen was pretty along with their nigiri and some of their rolls. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have any sashimi but it wasn't that big of a deal. If you're in the area then I'd recommend trying it but be ready to wait an hour and a half or more. (We got there at 3:30PM and sat down around 5PM-ish on a Sunday).

If you finish 15 plates you get a prize! We got a ninja star that inserts to the headphone jack of your phone.

John had a Leica Q that we got to test out. The quality of the images were super sharp and its shutter was really quiet. I didn't play with it much. I really just wanted to hold it, heh.

I've been in the market for an A7II but I've been on the fence between that and the A7. John let play with his A7 + Voigtländer 20mm. The A7II I want mostly for its improved "DSLR" grip and where the shutter dial is located but I got used to how the A7 felt so I may think of getting one to save a few hundred $$$. So, we'll see!

Thanks for bringing me along today guys! Maybe next time let's find a place that won't make us wait 2 hours in the cold where there is no music playing. At least we got Philz!

Check out John's blog here and Anna's here!

All the photos below were taken with a Sony A7 + Voigtländer 20mm F3.5.

Destroyed, but not forgotten.

Found out this morning through a Facebook group I'm in that the Point Reyes Shipwreck was burned down over the weekend by some photographers who were spinning wool.

I'm all for creativity and fire, but when it destroys property is when it crosses the line. And honestly, I've never been a fan of spinning wool. It was cool for about a week when it first blew up and now it's become a cliche.

I've been reading comments that the local fire department will be removing the wreckage since it's now hazardous. Also, the 2 photographers responsible from what I've read have deleted their IG images and it's only a matter of time until they are held responsible.

You can see that the stern is completely burned down.

I've been planning to go back up to Point Reyes and to visit the lighthouse and the shipwreck is on the way. Now it's one stop that I won't be making anymore since it may be gone by the time I get back up there.

Here's some photos of the ship before it was destroyed that I took late last year.
